Welcome to Hogganvik Landsby
Hogganvik village is a life sharing and work community for adults who need special care, co-workers and their families. The village is located in Vindafjord in Rogaland, 60 km east of Haugesund. There are currently about 45 people in the village community, of which 35 live in the village.
Hogganvik Village is part of the international Camphill Movement and the Camphill Village Trust, Norway.
Hogganvik village and all activities in the village are based on Rudolf Steiner's anthroposophy and Karl König's (founder of the Camphill Movement)social and therapeutic impulse.
Village life challenges people to meet their own and others limits. It creates an environment which encourages the development of the individual's responsibility for themselves and for others as an essential factor. One of the most important aspects of life in the village is promoting the individual's self-esteem and confidence. To achieve this we do not use therapy but a rich and varied work, culture and community life are our most important tools.

The Fundamental Social Law
The fundemental Social Law
In a community of people working together, the well-being of the community will be greater, the less the individual claims for himself the proceeds of the work he himself has done; i.e. the more of these proceeds he makes over to his fellow workers, and the more his own requirements are satisfied, not out of his work, but out of work done by others.
Any alternative way of organising life in a community that is contrary to this law will in time inevitably engender distress and destitution.
Rudolf Steiner
